Skates!

The big kids both got roller blades for Christmas and they were excited!  We actually spent a good chunk of time on Christmas day out in the street helping them not fall on their faces.  We went to the roller skating rink at the beginning of January for homeschool skate (once a month they have a reduced rate and a good size group of about 100 skaters) and the kids picked up skating so quickly!

Well on a cold Saturday we gathered a few of our friends and went to the rink again.  Well- this was a BIG difference from homeschool skate day.  The place was SO crowded!  Whew!  I thought it was going to be a disaster since we had 4 skating kids, one busy toddler, and three parents- one of whom needed to stay with the busy toddler.  Well- Mike gets a gold star this day because he went around that rink with all the kids until they were ready to do it on their own.  Our friends had never skated before- and were missing their Dad who just left for a deployment so they were a little unsure about the whole thing.

They ALL were skating around on their own by the end and ALL had a great time.  And, despite his best efforts to be busy and elusive- we didn't lose Scott.  :)

Great buddies going on 3 years making mischief together.
