Emma finally got too big for her free 12 inch bike. We decided it was time to get her a bigger one. Even though a bike should probably be a big gift on a birthday or Christmas- neither of those things are any time soon and our kids spend a significant amount of time riding outside so random gift day it was!
Emma loves her bike.
Andrew was SUCH a good sport going along watching his sis get a new bike. He was happy as could be with his matchbox cars we let him get. Then when we got home instead of complaining he didn't have a new bike to ride he was THRILLED to pop on Emma's old bike and pedal away. Princesses and all. He is a good sport.
Yes, he is also wearing a pink shirt- but he picked it himself and it is not a hand me down.

I love it when boys wear pink shirts. It reminds me of one of my favorite uncles that passed away who loved pink and all the boys at the funeral wore a pink tie. Good memories. I love that he rides the pink bike too.
That's exactly what happened with Tatum...her bike broke a few months ago and we couldn't wait until her birthday or Christmas to get her a new one so she got a new bike on random present day. But, our kids live on bikes so it was totally worth it. Andrew is sooooo cool!!!
Andrew just understands already that real men wear pink! :) That's so great that he was such a good sport about Emma getting a new bike! It's hard when Christmas and birthdays are so close together because sometimes they need things in the summertime and there are no big gift days to give them those things. We have that dilemma at our house too!
