Town Down Charleston

When we were in Naples the kids called downtown "town down" and we love it so much we hope the phrase sticks around forever. While the cousins were in school on Friday we explored town down Charleston. I was so excited about this since I've always wanted to see Charleston. We've got about 10 things on our list to go back and see.

We loved
-The old cobblestone streets
-The Clydesdale horses pulling carriages of tourists
-The old southern homes with porches all the way around them
-The art galleries
-The random gardens with shade and beautiful flowers
-The cute little pub where we ate lunch out on a terrace and the kids ate chicken satay while the grown ups had yummy burgers!
-Walking along the water and seeing sailboats going by
-There was a random viewer you could look through and Andrew loved the "eye looker" and seeing Ft. Sumter out in the harbor
-The fountains! The kids are dying to come back in the summer when they can fully appreciate them
-The big porch swings out on the pier where you can sit and swing and feel the ocean breeze
-Getting to spend a fun family day in town together

It looks like you guys had a great time! I love how kids can come up with things and change the entire language for the family - town down is super cute!

We'll only be 2.5 hours from Charleston when we move. Glad you had a fun time!
