We went to Philadelphia to see our favorite 18 year old graduate from high school. It's a 6 hour drive so we were a little nervous about Scott's first big road trip since he doesn't typically love the car here around town. Well, he was crying when I buckled him in but when I came out of the house 60 seconds later after grabbing mt water bottle- he was asleep! He pretty much slept the entire drive! He woke up once to eat. We were impressed. The big kids are used to such car trips and travelled great. They both love our Dsi and I'm hoping we don't take too many more road trips before we get another one. Yes, sharing is good. But, being able to hold a conversation with my husband because all children are occupied is golden. We didn't even use the dvd player on the way up to Philly. All we needed was a basket of books and the Dsi. It was good.
We realized our camera battery was dead when we got there so we have just a couple pictures from Maddy's camera.
Andrew did not hesitate for one second when it was time to jump off the diving board. He is a maniac. I was in the house with Scott but Mike said he pretty much just ran off the end of the board.

We also squeezed in a trip to the Please Touch Museum. It's a great children's museum and also part of an awesome summer program called Blue Star Museums where with a military ID you can get into 100's of museums all over the country for free! The Please Touch is about $16 per person and we had 6 people (we had Maddie and Sylvie with us!) free was a GREAT deal! The kids had a great time and Scott loved his sling. Again, with the lame parents who brought a dead camera on their trip.....we have just a few pictures on the carousel. On thing I wish we had a picture of was the sculpture of Statue of Liberty's torch made all of toys! At one point Lady Liberty's torch was actually there in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia so making a sculpture of it out of toys was a great way to remember and teach kids about it. It was HUGE, probably a full scale model. Plus, who doesn't love a museum that has a carousel? Like I said- great place to go.
